Great Southern Grammar is proud to collaborate with Western Australian artist James Giddy to create a mural of the Osprey on one of the school buildings.
James Giddy recently visited the school campus to conduct a workshop with some of our talented students to develop the design for the mural that he will paint on the Tamungup Building in Week Eight, from Monday 20 March to Friday 24 March.
The theme of the mural reflects the local fauna that can be found right on the shores of the school, in this instance the local Osprey that nests near the ancient Oyster Harbour Fish traps and often visits the school to watch the daily life of the students.
Great Southern Grammar’s Principal Mark Sawle said it was great to see the collaboration between the school community and the local artist James Giddy.
“We are excited to provide an opportunity for our students to work with a talented WA artist to create a mural of the Osprey for our school campus.”
“We are lucky to have these beautiful birds live so close to the school campus and it will be great to see this amazing animal captured in a mural on one of our buildings", Mr Sawle said.
James Giddy is a mural artist based in Perth. His mural work can be found at many public venues throughout Australia, as well as internationally.
