MADALAH Scholarships

Great Southern Grammar is proud to be one of MADALAH's partner schools in Western Australia.

MADALAH Limited is a renowned not-for-profit organisation based in Western Australia. It is dedicated to providing secondary and tertiary education scholarships for Indigenous students, primarily from remote and regional communities. MADALAH’s aim is to offer learning opportunities and support, allowing students to attend WA’s leading boarding schools and prestigious universities from around Australia.

MADALAH stands for “Making A Difference And Looking Ahead” and embodies the organisation’s commitment to creating positive change through education. It acts as a bridge, connecting Indigenous students with quality educational institutions and empowering them to reach their full potential. Great Southern Grammar School takes great pride in being a valued partner boarding school of MADALAH Limited.

We are honoured to collaborate with MADALAH to provide educational opportunities and support to Indigenous students.

Indigenous Scholarship Eligibility Criteria:

  • Students must be of Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander descent and identify as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander to be eligible.
  • Students are required to submit a written application.
  • Students should submit a letter of recommendation from their current school’s Principal, deputy or teacher.
  • Students must submit their most recent NAPLAN results and last two School reports.
  • Students must also confirm they are eligible for AbStudy or are willing to apply. If successful, the family must complete the application for AbStudy.
  • Shortlisted students will be invited to an interview with the Principal.
  • This Scholarship is supported by MADALAH Limited, a not-for-profit organisation that offers secondary and tertiary education scholarships for Indigenous students, primarily from remote and regional communities, to WA’s leading boarding schools and Australian universities. MADALAH secondary scholarships provide support to students from Years 7 to 12. These scholarships are administered by MADALAH on behalf of the National Indigenous Australians Agency (NIAA). Applications must be made to both the School and directly to MADALAH.

To apply with the School, please complete the online Application for Admission form and disregard the $75 application fee.
